getting there
By Plane:
There are two common ways to get to Tuscany by plane. By flying into Rome, or by flying into Florence (via connection). Some even prefer to fly into nearby Pisa from Rome. (But if you haven’t visited Florence, I highly recommend it.)
By Train:
If flying into Rome, Trenitalia's high-speed, non-stop Frecce train, leaves from Rome's Termini and Tiburtina stations every 30 minutes and arrives at Florence's Santa Maria Novella in under 90 minutes.
From here, a rental car or a car service is highly recommended as Tuscany is challenging to travel via public transport or train. Trains to major regions in Tuscany are available, but Tuscany is always best travelled by car! Villa Barberino is under 1 hour from Florence by car.
Here is a helpful guide to travelling Tuscany by train.
By Car:
Arezzo (the closest town to Villa Barberino) can be reached by car from Florence or Rome via the Autostrada del Sole (A1 Milan-Naples).
Distance from Florence: ~45 minutes
Distance from Rome: ~3 hours
By Airport Transfer:
There are many airport transfer services that you can hire to bring you directly to Villa Barberino. Stedop is a local company our wedding planner recommended. You can email them to coordinate: info@stedop.it
